Trump’s selection of Dr. Janette Nesheiwat marks the second choice of the former President from the airwaves of Fox News, alongside Fox News personality Pete Hegseth, who Trump selected as his Defense Secretary.
While Dr. Janette Nesheiwat may be a regular guest on Fox News, it must be noted that she supports many health normalities that are often questioned and attacked by more extreme elements of Trump’s inner circle, most notably his pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr..
Kennedy, along with many prominent conservatives within Trump’s immediate orbit, have been vocal proponents of public health protocols in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, alleging that measures taken to restrict the movement and forcibly mask Americans during the pandemic represented a mass violation of civil liberties.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. truly began his campaign for President in 2024 when he released his book ‘The Real Anthony Fauci’ in November of 2021. Within the conspiratorial bible of insanity, Kennedy asserts that the COVID-19 vaccine, along with other childhood vaccines, are responsible for mass deaths and illnesses.
Kennedy even goes as far as to claim that regularly scheduled childhood vaccinations, such as the polio vaccine (which largely eradicated the horrid disease that once plagues thousands of children), are responsible for rises in autism rates.
Trump’s Surgeon General pick Dr. Janette Nesheiwat has not only endorsed the COVID-19 vaccine, being a strong proponent of COVID vaccinations during the pandemic, but even encouraged Fox News viewers to get COVID booster shots.

One thing is for certain, Nesheiwat is no Robert F. Kennedy Jr. when it comes to vaccinations, and just the mere fact that Trump has selected Nesheiwat as his Surgeon General has created a frenzy on the far right.
Nesheiwat Encouraged Facebook To Block Dangerous COVID Conspiracy Theorists
There was a push by larger social media companies during the COVID-19 pandemic to censor unverified and, more importantly, false information about the virus on their platforms throughout the national emergency.
The subject of those bans included none other than Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who as we stated earlier, has been selected to run Trump’s department of Health and Human Services. Kennedy Jr. was taken off of Facebook in 2022 for promoting anti-vaccine conspiracy theories.
Nesheiwat, on the other hand, cheered on these safety initiatives by large social media corporations, publicly applauding Mark Zuckerberg and others for correctly taking action against misinformation being spread by Kennedy and others on their platforms.

‘Vaccines save lives,’ Trump’s Surgeon General pick said during an appearance on the Fox Business Network after Kennedy and his anti-vaxx followers had been banned from Facebook.
“It’s about time they are taking action,” she finished. To have Kennedy, who Nesheiwat publicly called to be censored, serving in the same cabinet will certainly lead to tension in the coming Administration.
Where Is Trump Headed?
President-elect Donald Trump sits in a unique position right now. He is the first President to be re-elected after losing his initial re-election bid since Grover Cleveland. Incidentally, both of these men are from the State of New York.
Trump’s selection of Pete Hegseth, Matt Gaetz (who has now withdrawn), Tulsi Gabbard, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. signaled to many Americans and Washington D.C. establishment figures that the President-elect intended to turn the Nation’s Capital upside-down.
The selection of Dr. Janette Nesheiwat signals that Trump may be softening on his more conspiratorial tendencies. It remains to be seen if this trend will continue.
