When President-elect Donald Trump announced that he had chosen Florida Representative Matt Gaetz as his Attorney General, a resounding shock could be felt throughout the halls of government in Washington D.C..
Not only has Gaetz been a near constant proponent of dismantling the tools of justice traditionally at the disposal of our democracy, but he also has a history of troubling criminal allegations.
When he was selected as Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, Matt Gaetz was under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for sexual misconduct and drug allegations. It is alleged that Gaetz carried on a felonious relationship with an underage girl, even illegally transporting the minor across state lines for the purpose of sexual activity.
The Congressman is also embroiled in credible allegations of drug use, which also involved the minor he is accused of conducting an illegal sexual relationship with.
Upon the realization that he had been chosen as Attorney General, Gaetz promptly resigned his position in the House of Representatives. Coincidentally, the Florida Congressman’s resignation comes just days before the House Ethics Committee was set to release their report on the criminal allegations against Gaetz.
Gaetz Was Investigated For Murder After His College Roommate Was Found Dead
Former Representative Matt Gaetz attended his undergraduate schooling at Florida State University, where he was roommates with a member of the LGBTQ community. That individual reportedly committed suicide under suspicious circumstances, according to the IntepidReport.
Gaetz was reportedly investigated, briefly, for homicide in the case of the mysterious death of his roommate, however, police were allegedly pressured by Gaetz’s powerful father to quickly end the investigation.

What does Matt Gaetz know about the strange circumstances surrounding the death of his college roommate, and more importantly, why hasn’t anybody questioned Gaetz about his potential involvement in the death of this individual?
Could the quick disappearance of this case perhaps be related to the fact that this particular individual happened to be a member of the LGBTQ community?
The death of Gaetz’s roommate was eventually ruled a suicide after the political pressure from Gaetz’s father allegedly ended the investigation into the future Congressman.
Testimony Reveals Gaetz Slept With A Minor
NBC News has highlighted that the damning report to soon be released by the House Ethics Committee includes testimony from a woman who asserts that the former Florida Representative had a sexual relationship with a minor.
Gaetz, regardless of the content of the House Ethics Investigation, will face a near-impossible confirmation process in the U.S. Senate, where many Republican Senators have voiced hesitance to throw their support behind the conservative firebrand.
Reactions To Gaetz’s Nomination
Democrat Senator John Fetterman said about Trump’s nomination of Gaetz, “I mean, I would describe it as god-tier level trolling, that has triggered a full-on China Syndrome to own the libs in perpetuity.”
Republican Senator Susan Collins told Punchbowl News, “This is why the Senate’s advise-and-consent process is so important. I’m sure that there will be many, many questions raised at Mr. Gaetz’s hearing.”
